Nubians:: why do you think the media doesn't advertise natural black hairstyles for women?

the commercials only have products for relaxers and in most movies and tv shows the female characters have permed and extended hair :: do you think that more black women would be comfortable with their natural hair texture if the media didn't only depict chemically treated styles as trendy and attractive?Nubians:: why do you think the media doesn't advertise natural black hairstyles for women?
Acrually, most of the Black women I see in commercials have curly hair (not necessarily an afro, but looser curls). But I understand what you mean. The media is run by Whites, so who they put in commercials is what will appeal most to consumers. Most consumers are non-Black and may be ';intimidated'; by a woman with natural hair because of the stereotypes that are attached to people with natural hair (pro-Black), so they go for women with ';less intimidating'; hairstyles (straight hair whether relaxed or natural or loosely curled hair).Nubians:: why do you think the media doesn't advertise natural black hairstyles for women?
No, they have to make sure people (including black people, who watch the most TV) think that anything that is 100% black is 100% bad.

On a side note, a huge majority of hair products are all Asian owned. If we're gonna mess up our bodies by putting harsh chemicals in it let's at least keep the money in the community.
Who cares?!? The media is not run by us what do you expect.

Here's some websites that show natural hairstyles for black women:

because the media wants everyone to be white. they already brain washed most japanese women and men into dying their hair un-natural colors and using skin-lighteners.

edit: personally ';good hair'; is **** to me. greasy , lice infested ... eww.i like having soft hair.
Because the media wants everyone in the world to look, act, talk and even walk white. And they also trying to make black people look bad and dirty. Trust me the media has the whole world fooled about black people, not only with hair ether.
i'm actually seeing a change in this in commercials and some tv shows. baby steps...
